What’s it all about?

Stansted Airport is expanding rapidly resulting in a demand for skilled workers to work within a variety of roles specifically around flight operations, cabin crew, airside and landside operations, security, aircraft dispatch and air traffic control. This qualification will help you to gain a broad understanding of key airport operations and provide you with the skills and knowledge to be able to progress into a career within the aviation industry.

What will I do?

Our courses are delivered by a range of industry experts, who will provide you with an in-depth knowledge of the aviation industry and will equip you with the personal and practical skills needed to launch your career. Our strong links with employers means you will have opportunities to gain real life work experience and benefit from their vast expertise.

What can I do next?

You can progress to university or into employment in a range of roles across the airport including security officer, airline customer service agent, general operative airside, flight operations agent, cabin crew and many more. You could also pursue an exciting and sustainable career in air traffic control with further training. The opportunities are vast and progression to an Apprenticeship as a Ground Specialist followed by a Higher Apprenticeship as a Ground Operations Manager is another exciting pathway you may choose to follow.

Aviation Operations

Stansted Airport is expanding rapidly resulting in a demand for skilled workers to work within a variety of roles specifically around flight operations, airside and landside operations. This qualification is designed to provide learners with an understanding of the principles of working within the aviation sector. The primary purpose is to allow leaners to progress to the L3 programme or into employment by gaining a number of transferable skills.

Cabin Crew (Adult Course)

Stansted Airport flies to 190+ destinations and serves over £25million passengers per year and is expanding rapidly resulting in a demand for skilled cabin crew. This qualification will help you to gain an understanding of the role of cabin crew and provide you with the practical and technical skills to be able to progress into a career with a top airline. You will gain an appreciation of the terminology used within the industry as well as an understanding of the essential behaviours expected of future employees.

This course is for Adults looking to progress their careers in the aviation industry, looking to change career and work in the industry or Aviation enthusiasts wanting to gain a greater understanding of the Aviation industry and how it operates.

Logistics

This qualification is designed to provide learners with a basic understanding of the principles of working within the aviation sector, specifically in logistics and handling cargo. Leaners will be provided with opportunities to develop skills and behaviours to ready them for work in this dynamic and fast moving environment. Progression onto a L3 programme after successful completion of this course in aviation or PEO aeronautical engineering.

Travel and Tourism Diploma Level 3 (Aviation pathway)
(Can combine with Cabin Crew in Year 2)

This qualification is designed to give learners the skills to work in the travel and tourism sector. They will gain an in-depth understanding of the principles of the travel and tourism industry and allow them to explore the various avenues of work within the industry. This can then be taken to prospective employers or can contribute to wards further progression into HE
