Entry Requirements:

This course is for Adults aged 19+ only.

Applicants must hold a valid passport and have achieved a minimum GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English, or a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in English.

What's it all about?:

This course is designed for adults who are looking to progress their career within the aviation industry, change careers and enter the sector, or simply develop a greater understanding of how the aviation industry operates.

With London Stansted Airport serving more than 190 destinations and millions of passengers each year, the aviation industry continues to offer a wide range of exciting career opportunities. This qualification will provide you with an understanding of the role of cabin crew and help you develop the practical knowledge, technical skills and professional behaviours required to progress into a career with an airline. You will also gain an understanding of industry terminology, aviation operations and the high standards of customer service and professionalism expected by employers.

How long is the course?:

Start Date: November 2026

The programme runs for 18 weeks, with classes taking place one evening per week on Thursdays from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

How much does it cost?:

The fee for this course is £459

All fees are free if you are:

  • Unemployed, in receipt of benefits and looking for work, or
  • Are in work and earn less than £25,750 a year.

What will I do?:

This programme is delivered through a blended learning approach, combining face-to-face sessions at college with online lessons delivered via Microsoft Teams. A schedule of teaching sessions will be provided at the start of the programme to help you plan your studies.

The course consists of 6 Mandatory Units:

  • Workings as Cabin Crew
  • Airline health, safety and security
  • Aircraft emergency situations
  • Dealing with passengers on-board an aircraft
  • Cabin service - selling techniques
  • Making passenger announcements on-board aircraft

The qualification is assessed through a range of coursework activities, including role plays, presentations and written assignments.

What can I do next?:

Successful completion of this qualification can lead to employment as Cabin Crew with an airline. It can also open the door to a wide range of other airport-based careers, including Security Officer, Airline Customer Service Agent, Airside General Operative and Flight Operations Agent.

With further experience and training, there are opportunities to progress into a variety of specialist and management roles across the aviation industry.

Please note that industry-standard airline Cabin Crew requirements apply for those wishing to pursue a career in this field. For example, applicants are typically required to be able to swim at least 25 metres unaided and meet any additional health, fitness and recruitment criteria set by individual airlines.
