New College Building Update
A recent site visit to the new Stansted Airport College has seen huge leaps forward in the construction of the building.
The roof and walls are in place, with only the front entrance left open, allowing easy access for the building materials, needed to complete the interior.
An impressive atrium dominates the central space. Open to the skylights, this area will be flooded with natural light once the structure is complete.
On the outside, the anthracite cladding has been fitted, and work is underway to complete the noise baffles, as the building is situated close to one of the main runways at the Airport.
Wendy Martin, Head of Stansted Airport College said: ‘We are really excited to see how well the building is progressing. It’s on track to open in September and we are hoping to have the building handed over to us in early August. It’s great to see it taking shape and the classroom spaces are looking really impressive.
"We are also pleased to have made our 250th offer of a place at the College and look forward to inviting even more learners on board soon".
